Courses articulate with Johnson & Wales University and Hampton University

This two-year program is designed to give students hands-on experience in the hotel business. Students meet at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Bonney Road or the ATC each day to receive classroom instruction. Studies include all aspects of hotel operations, including the front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house operations. Students work with the hotel staff during class time. The second-year course uses the American Hotel/Motel Association curriculum and provides the opportunity for students to be certified as hospitality supervisors, a national recognition program. Students are eligible to sit for the National Retail Federation Customer Service Professional exam for student-selected verified credit. Second-year students are eligible to be certified as hospitality supervisors through the American Hotel/Motel Association.

RETAIL OPERATIONS (ME 8223)

RETAIL OPERATIONS CO-OP (ME 8222)
3 credits, 1 year, Grades 11-12

Students study career exploration, advertising, visual merchandising, loss prevention, marketing research, and sales and service.  Students are eligible for the National Retail Federation Customer Service Professional certification.

RETAIL MANAGEMENT (ME 8243)
2 credits, 1 year, Grade 12
Prerequisite:  Retail Operations

RETAIL MANAGEMENT CO-OP (ME 8242)
3 credits, 1 year, Grade 12
Prerequisite:  Retail Operations

Retail Management students in this advanced marketing course study management principles, retail promotion, human resources, business ownership, and business plan writing. Students prepare for the National Retail Federation Sales and Service exam.
