Course description
This two-year program helps students develop the skills and learn the principles involved in advertising design.

Students also learn the development and function of advertising and the production processes involved. Students will learn to cross technical and visual boundaries by using the elements of graphic design and computer graphic arts.
Additional elements covered are design, illustration, typography, photography, computer graphics, advertising techniques, and preparation of camera-ready copy for print material. Students will prepare for the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) certification exams and the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) assessment in Advertising Design.

This dynamic, two-year course of study prepares students for future opportunities in the rapidly growing Internet careers of webmaster, site developer, multimedia designer, and information architect. Students will learn HTML, XHTML (business HTML programming), Dreamweaver, beginning FLASH, introductory JavaScript, Apache web server software, photo and video editing as well as gaining practical experience in the art of digital photography and producing videos. Qualified students will be eligible to obtain the Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) Foundations certification in HTML, Internet Business aspects, hardware set up for a web server and advanced certification for Site Designer in Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks and JavaScript.


Course description
This is an introductory course for students to learn to program with animation.

Students will work in a 3D interactive environment to learn fundamental programming concepts. After students have learned the concepts in computer programming, they will learn to program in Visual Basic.NET. Beginning FLASH will also be covered in the course. Qualified students will be eligible to sit for the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) assessment for Computer Programming.


Course description
Students will write programs using Visual Basic.NET and develop their own games.

The course also focuses on creating user interfaces, program construction, and language rules. Students learn how to write computer programs for Windows and Internet applications, develop Web pages, and use databases. Advanced FLASH will also be learned in the course. Qualified students will be eligible to sit for the Brainbench certification for Visual Basic.NET.


Prerequisite(s):
Microsoft Windows and Visual Basic (AT6641) or;
Formal programming instruction and experience in C++, JAVA, or another programming language.
