Model Partner of the Year 2006-2007!
Pace Collaborative President, John DeVan
working with ATC students
Pace Collaborative has a significant impact
on student learning and achievement. The value of this partnership is that
it not only assisted but played an integral role in developing workforce
development plans and actively carried them out to shape tomorrow’s
workforce today.
• Forty ATC 12th-grade CADD students attended two field trips over
a two-year period which reinforced the learning process by allowing all ATC
CADD students to gain educational information about the field of engineering
and meeting real engineers who can provide information about their work experiences.
• The company confirmed their commitment to the ATC by investing money
in their company to mentoring CADD students and building their future workforce
by designing, building, and dedicating space in their building to train ATC
interns. When the company built their new building in 2005, Pace Collaborative
included in their plans and funded designated floor space with cubicles, computers,
and software for interns and graduates.
• During the last six years, Pace Collaborative has hired ten out of
ten ATC CADD students/graduates who applied. Four of these individuals were
interns.
According to Andrew Smith, ATC CADD Instructor, “I have been teaching
and working in computer aided drafting and design for nearly thirty years,
and have never encountered a company as unique as Pace Collaborative. Most
major companies are only interested in the bottom line, but to find a company
that has a corporate structure that understands the big picture and is
willing to invest in developing the global workforce of tomorrow is refreshing.
Pace Collaborative helps students to understand the role that education,
teamwork, and corporate responsibility to the community play in today’s
environment.”
“Our relationship with ATC has been very valuable to PACE. It's
a win-win relationship where, hopefully, we contribute to the well-being
of the ATC student and where a number of ATC students and graduates have become productive
members of our firm. Our relationship with the ATC is perhaps the
most successful relationship that we have with an educational
institution.”
“The professional engineering community is in great need of
the ATC’s in the world, training the workforce of tomorrow, and contributing
to the ongoing success of your students. Thank you for your most important
service in this arena.”
