Course description
Go beyond the limits of a single computer and discover the endless possibilities of computer-based networks. Share music and printers, setup servers that can store thousands of bits of data, or host a LAN (Local Area Network) gaming party; Discover how your favorite portable device communicates across the Internet. Even explore the behind-the-scenes action of computer forensics and install protection against intruders and hackers.

If one computer is fun to use, imagine the fun in controlling hundreds of computers or more! Learn these skills and much more in the two-year Computer Network Administration (CNA) program.

 

Students should
Exhibit a strong desire to learn about computer technologies, and be a capable Windows XP or Vista user (creating files and folders, installing programs, etc.), as well as possess experience in MS Word and creating PowerPoint presentations.
Prior academic class work should include: “C” or higher in English and Algebra I, and the student should have an excellent attendance record.
