Course description Are you considering a future career that involves working with the Internet?
This dynamic, two-year course of study prepares students for future opportunities in the rapidly growing Internet careers of webmaster, site developer, multimedia designer, and information architect. Students will learn HTML, XHTML (business HTML programming), Dreamweaver, beginning FLASH, introductory JavaScript, Apache web server software, photo and video editing as well as gaining practical experience in the art of digital photography and producing videos. Qualified students will be eligible to obtain the Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) Foundations certification in HTML, Internet Business aspects, hardware set up for a web server and advanced certification for Site Designer in Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks and JavaScript.
Students should • Exhibit a strong desire to learn about computer technologies. • Be a capable Windows XP user (creating files & folders, installing programs, etc.), experienced in MS Word and creating PowerPoint presentations. • Academic class work should include: C or higher in English and Algebra 1; and the student should have an excellent attendance record.
