A+ COMPUTER REPAIR (AT 8685)
VBCPS: 3 credits, 1 year, Grades 11-12; TCC: 8 Credits
In this one-year course, students learn to recognize and solve the most common technical problems associated with personal computers (PCs), gain the skills to build and configure PCs, and learn to troubleshoot associated hardware and software. Students also configure and maintain a basic client server network. Students will prepare for the A+ certification exams offered by CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association).

CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMY (AT 6657/6658)
VBCPS: 3 credits per year, 2 years, Grades 11-12; TCC: 8 credits
In this two-year program, students learn skills in designing, installing, configuring, operating, and troubleshooting simple and complex computer networks. The courses include topics in network architecture, industry standards, communication protocols, networking devices (routers and switches), router programming, media selection, topologies, data transmission, and cabling for LANs and WANs. Students prepare for the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.

COMPUTER NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR (AT 6655/6656)
VBCPS: 3 credits per year, 2 years, Grades 11-12; TCC: 8 credits
This two-year program focuses on the role of computer network administrators. Students will receive a wide range of information technology skills to support the day-to-day management of small and large computer networks. Topics covered include network operating system administration, computer hardware fundamentals, basic networking skills, a technical understanding of the Internet, and technical customer support and service. Students will prepare for the Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) and the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Server certifications.

DIGITAL DESIGN (AT 8570/8571)
VBCPS: 3 credits per year, 2 years, Grades 11-12; TCC: 10 Credits
This two-year program helps students develop skills and principles involved in advertising design, as well as learn the development and function of advertising and the production processes involved. Students will learn to cross technical and visual boundaries by using the elements of graphic design and computer graphic arts. Additional elements covered are design, illustration, typography, photography, computer graphics, advertising techniques, and preparation of camera-ready copy for print material. Students will prepare for the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) certification exams.

ELECTRONIC COMMERCE (AT 6659)
VBCPS: 3 credits, 1 year, Grade 11-12
In this one-year marketing course, students are introduced to the world of Electronic Commerce and are provided the tools necessary to understand and capitalize on the explosion of Internet-based business in todays economy. This course covers the key marketing and technology strategies in electronic commerce, such as business-to-business and business-to-consumer strategies. Additional topics include: web site development; global business environment strategies; and international, legal, ethical, and tax issues. Students prepare for the Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) Associates certification.

i-NET + INTERNET MANAGEMENT (AT 8684)

This information technology course involves the management of the Internet and Intranet infrastructure. The curriculum includes i-Net basics, Internet security systems, Internet applications development, transaction based systems, Internet site structure and business concepts. Students will be prepared for the i-Net+ Certification through CompTIA.

MICROSOFT WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM AND VISUAL BASIC (AT 6641)
VBCPS: 3 credits, 1 year, Grades 11-12; TCC: 3 credits
This one year course provides students with the skills and knowledge required to install, configure, troubleshoot, and provide technical support to users of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Computer components, networking fundamentals, and programming in Visual Basic are also covered in the course. Students utilize a curriculum authorized by Microsoft Corporation and test for the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Windows OS certification.

ORACLE INTERNET ACADEMY (AT 8682/8683)
VBCPS: 3 credits per year, 2 years, Grades 11-12; TCC: 12 Credits
This two-year program provides the detail-oriented or big-picture student with the knowledge, skills, and ability to create a web-based database that allows individuals to purchase online concert/movie tickets. Students will use data modeling and programming languages, such as SQL (Structured Query Language) and Java, to participate in Oracle International Projects. Students will prepare for the SQL certification and the Computer Science Advanced Placement test.
