Course description
Changing the Way People Learn. The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a comprehensive e-learning program, which provides students with the Internet technology skills essential in a global economy.

The Networking Academy program delivers Web-based content, online assessment, hands-on labs, and preparation for industry standard certifications.

The Virginia Beach Cisco Networking Academy teaches the Cisco CCNA® Discovery curriculum which provides students with foundational networking knowledge, practical experience, opportunities for career exploration, and soft skills development to help them prepare for entry-level careers in IT and networking. The curriculum offers a hands-on approach to learning and uses interactive tools and easy-to-follow labs to help students learn the general theory needed to build networks.

 

Students should
Exhibit a strong desire to discover the workings of the Internet and networks that connect to it.
An academy student should have basic PC skills, be experienced in MS Word and in creating PowerPoint presentations.
Academic class work should include: C or higher in English and Algebra I, and an excellent attendance record.
The student should also have access to the Internet (home or library) during out-of-school hours.
