
Course description
During this two-year program, students receive extensive training in architectural and mechanical design.
This course involves developing complete mechanical assembly drawings with parts lists, welding symbols, and detail sheets. You will design a dream house and develop a complete set of building plans while developing skills in using AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop, and 3D Studio Viz software. Students prepare for AutoCAD certification.

Students should
• Have an art, mathematics, and or drafting background.
• Have a desire to create, problem solve, build models, and puzzle solve.
• Be creative, and imaginative; and
Are inquisitive about how and why things work.
• Have a strong work ethic.

• Potentially earn college credits with Tidewater Community College – Associate of Applied Science Degree.
• Potentially earn Experiential Learning college credit with Old Dominion University, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Occupational Technical Studies.
