Course description
During this two-year program, students receive extensive training in architectural and mechanical design.

This course involves developing complete mechanical assembly drawings with parts lists, welding symbols, and detail sheets. You will design a dream house and develop a complete set of building plans while developing skills in using AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop, and 3D Studio Viz software. Students prepare for AutoCAD certification.

 

Students should
Have an art, mathematics, and or drafting background.
Have a desire to create, problem solve, build models, and puzzle solve.

Be creative, and imaginative; and
Are inquisitive about how and why things work.

Have a strong work ethic.

Jr. Drafter (High School Diploma)

Potentially earn college credits with Tidewater Community College – Associate of Applied Science Degree.
