ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

This is a two-year program.  Engineering Technology is for students interested in a career in engineering, robotics, manufacturing, or industrial management.  From automobiles to airplanes, cell phones to computers, stereos to ships, it all has to be designed, engineered, and produced.  Engineering Technology provides students with the foundational skills in areas such as: engineering, robotics, computer integrated manufacturing, material science and physics.

Application of Course: [back to top] Design, engineer, and manufacture an automobile, or one of its vital components.

Software:[back to top]  AutoCAD LT, Master CAM, Robotics, and Automation and Inventory Control.

Hardware/Equipment: [back to top] Robots, networked computers, computer controlled mill and lath equipment, lab and test equipment, production and inspection, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) cell, and automated assembly line

Students who:

o       Have the interest and motivation to read technical information and apply it to a problem;

o       Enjoy solving a problem by utilizing basic mathematics and science:

o       Are inquisitive about how and why things work; and

o       Have a strong work ethic;

o       Desire to see computers used in a system to make an item; and

o       Are interested in the nuts and bolts of industrial engineering and manufacturing technology.
