And that ’s thanks in no small part to the combined efforts of the Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development and the Virginia Beach Advanced Technology Center.

Through its partnership with the Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development, the Advanced Technology Center offers industry-certified training for high-school, college, and continuing education students in areas that include, but are not limited to:

• High-performance manufacturing
• Marine services and water transportation
• Telecommunications
• Radio and television
• Special communication services
• Computer hardware and software development

This training, along with the Virginia Beach Public School’s Workforce Readiness Program, ensures that Virginia Beach students have the skills that employers are looking for in today’s fast-paced and tech-savvy marketplace.
